Getting curious with Asha!

Asha holds an MSc in Global Health, Social Justice and Public Policy from King’s College London, following an undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations. Her academic and research interests are rooted in a strong commitment to health equity, with a particular focus on maternal health, sexual and reproductive justice, and the broader social determinants of health.
Her postgraduate dissertation examined the reproductive rights of incarcerated women in the UK, highlighting the systemic inequities and health disparities experienced by this often-overlooked population. This work reflects her dedication for advocating for an inclusive, rights-based approaches to healthcare.
Asha is passionate about advancing impactful change in health policy and governance, with a particular interest in improving health literacy and ensuring equitable access to care for underserved communities.
Why did you want to join Curious Health?
I wanted to join Curious Health because its mission aligns so closely with my own values. The team’s commitment to equity, curiosity, and challenging the status quo in health really resonated with me. I’m excited to be part of a space that values bold thinking and inclusive approaches to health justice.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A doctor because I’d watched way too much Gray’s Anatomy!

What do you do when you’re not working?
I love to read, go to Pilates, swim and try out new matcha spots!
Do you have a go-to karaoke song?
Probably Upgrade U by Beyoncé – especially if I’m on stage with my best friend!
What’s something you’ve done, but you’ll never do again?
On a trip to Cyprus last summer, I had been convinced to go parasailing and it was so horrific. Never again!
What’s your favourite TV show?
Obviously Desperate Housewives! Such an iconic show.
What are you passionate about?
I care deeply about sexual and reproductive (in)justice. I’m particularly focused on supporting women who are often overlooked or underserved, and I’m passionate about helping create spaces to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met.
